BOARS HEAD

5am rolled around and I rolled out of bed got myself ready and double checked all my things. Amanda showed up at 6am with our friends Kathleen and Kat in the car already. From there we met up with the Marshfield car and headed to West Bend, WI where this event was taking place.

Once we arrived we headed to the bathrooms to get dressed and ready for the day. This year it was held in a newer building which was fabulous. There were tables for anyone to sit at and watch the fighters all day long, merchants on the other side of the room that had lots of great items, and some that I could afford even. Auctions and classes were there too. I was able to make my own coins, and learned how to draw Celtic Knots and did a little bit with some Heralds about my Persona and crest for myself. The day flew by and before I knew it we were heading to dinner at a Chinese restaurant in the West Bend, Milwaukee area. There were about 20 of us and we had a blast and the food was great!

Sadly one of our friends ended up pretty sick and in the end three of us headed home that night instead of staying over at Jason’s home. The ride home we stayed awake and had lots of fun just talking girl talk. I got a lot out of this journey, spent time with great people, learned more about the SCA, came home with hand made leather belt and belt pouch as well as a hand carved wooden box to hold my jewelry and a book on making Celtic Knots and a very full belly of good food ^_^

I can’t wait for the next event

How times have changed and how things that once were OK are not and no longer carry the same feeling or intent.  When you think of the word “woman” and do you automatically think bitch or hussy, baggage or bit? Rock, Paper, Control

The feeling of no control. No control over my mental health, my weight, or my physical health. I like to have things planned and organized because that give me some control in my life. I feel though, like those little things are just pieces of paper with a rock on them on a windy day, soon they to will be out of my control. I once had control over my health and weight, but that was nearly 14 yrs ago. Each year I advance in age I loose more and more control over those two things. No Dr. or specialist seem to know why. Back when I had control, my weight would fluctuate but nothing substantial. I was a ball of anxiety and stress back then as well, so nothing there changed. I was more active in those days, doing all the things all the time. Not sure if that was to hide from my brain weasels or having to go home and be around my mother.
