June 2nd
Just a normal day on the 8th floor for me, cleaning and listening to music when the Fire Alarm went off. Now in this building it goes off at least once a week from some drunk at night or someone burning food during the day. Less then ¼ of the building evacuates when the alarms go off due to this.
I feel very uncomfortable not evacuating so I grabbed my external HD, a few thumb Drives and headed out with the two bags of garbage. I figured since im out mine as well take out the garbage.
As I stepped out the door the other half of the 8th floor was filled with smoke. Let me explain the floors here it’s a HUGE hall long hall way and in the dead center of that hallway its divided with the elevator and smoke doors. So my half of the floor didn’t smell or see the smoke it was contained to their side.
But wait what is that I see. About 10 police men just hanging out in the smoke filled hallway. This is very odd, the alarm has only been going off for 2 min now, it takes the fire dept 10 min to get here so how are there police here? I didn’t stop to ask I just headed down the stair way and ran into another tenant, who said he did talk to the police and there is no fire and this was all planed.
You see the police were here to arrest someone and blew open their door and set off several smoke bombs that set off the fire alarms. Once I got to the front of the building there were 4 fire trucks and 10 police cars. So this guys story was right it was planed because the fire dept with one truck cant make it here in 10 min let alone 4 of them.
So I headed to the Shoppers Mart on the corner and picked up some soda to pass the time and headed back into the building. All the fire trucks were gone and only 2 or 3 police cars were still there. The Alarms were off so I took the elevator back up to the 8th floor. Where the other half of the hallway was still filled with smoke but now I see the police hauling a guy out in handcuffs.
