Left Shoe Duel at Dusk

“Right shoe is for walking, left shoe is for dueling”-Hagan

It all started late on Sunday night after many folks were finished setting up their camps and started roaming around from group to group. Tomas found himself in Hagan’s camp and took a seat near the fire; everyone was enjoying themselves with many stories and laughter until Hagan Offended Tomas by calling him a Janitor! This was all a misunderstanding of course, because Hagan really said “Ginger” instead of Janitor and as we all knows only a ginger can call another ginger “ginger” (Hagan, as we all know, is ginger).

This verbal mumble sparked Hagan to challenge Tomas to a duel to defend Tomas’s honor. As odd as that sounded, the duel was set to happen that night. This was not just any duel you see it is a Left Shoe Duel. Dimitri was Tomas’s second and Katsuo was intended to be Hagan’s second but His Majesty Vlad jumped in and said, ”I will be your second Hagan!”

In the darkness on the road outside of camp they stood back to back as the countdown started. Backs still intact they spun in a circle until the countdown was over. Tomas ducked quickly, Hagan’s hand lunged forward; the left shoe was seen flying in the firelight. Tomas threw his left shoe, both shoes hit: “GOOD” Double kill! About this mighty duel was said that “it made God cry down on us,” as the sky then rained down upon us.

How times have changed and how things that once were OK are not and no longer carry the same feeling or intent.  When you think of the word “woman” and do you automatically think bitch or hussy, baggage or bit? Rock, Paper, Control

The feeling of no control. No control over my mental health, my weight, or my physical health. I like to have things planned and organized because that give me some control in my life. I feel though, like those little things are just pieces of paper with a rock on them on a windy day, soon they to will be out of my control. I once had control over my health and weight, but that was nearly 14 yrs ago. Each year I advance in age I loose more and more control over those two things. No Dr. or specialist seem to know why. Back when I had control, my weight would fluctuate but nothing substantial. I was a ball of anxiety and stress back then as well, so nothing there changed. I was more active in those days, doing all the things all the time. Not sure if that was to hide from my brain weasels or having to go home and be around my mother.
