Mercenary Mustering

Noon had just run away and our bellies were full and it was time for the shoot. Our Great Queen and Prince joined us in the camp furthest from the point. Once all the archers gathered up in one place the day had really began for us. Our Queen was quite impressed with the numbers that showed up at her call for the Archery War Point for Northshield.

Bows in hand, arrows at our backs, we set out on foot. A long winding road at the range was our destination. After the sun has turned our skins a darker shade than it was before we left we finally arrived. Our Queen, our Prince and six bowmen at their sides approached the line with excitement and fear; for two of us had never drew a bow before and two of us it had been many winters since we held a bow.

With great guidance and encouragement from our Queen, and after tales of great valour on the archery field was told by our Prince, we fired. Smiles, pride and excitement filled each one of us. Eight war points our small but grand group earned that day on our field of battle. All were saved, two arrows lost but friendships were made, and that day will live in our memories for a very long time.
