June 11th
Seriously one of my Funnest days!!! Chris gave me some cash to use for food and scrap booking or clothes or what ever I wanted so I though, now that I know how to use the train I could go shopping all on my own while he was on his 4 to midnight shift.
Now I must warn you, I probably did what people are told never to do, BUT it worked out for the best. You see I was on the train reading a book trying to avoid people. When this gentleman got on the train sat down across from me. I was sitting on a news paper which I didn’t realize and he asked if He could have it. From there we had a friendly conversation on the train. By time I reached Clairview from Corona I felt like we were old college buddies. Seriously he was like one of my DND boys I so desperately miss from point. We both read comic books, like starwars, star trek, and firefly as well as play DND and other RP games AND AND his wife got him into World of Warcraft. He and his wife are totally gamer geek like me. So the walk from the train to Michael’s is about a 10 min walk which we just kept talking, I was having so much fun! We continued our convo into the store while I shopped then he asked if I was heading home for dinner with my boyfriend. I told him I was going to pick up Subway and head home. He said to me “I hope this doesn’t sound weird since we just met but want to come over for a BBQ? I know my wife would love to meet another gamer girl” and the words “id love to” just came rolling out.
I found out His name is Nik and wife is Rachel and last name Johnson. They used to live believe it or not in the building next to me and just recently moved out there in the last month. His wife is really nice and fun to talk to as much as he is. He grilled us hamburgers and we sat and talked for like 3 hours at their house. After we realized it was 10pm they wouldn’t let me take the train home alone so they drove me home. And on the way home they showed me a small mall about 4 more blocks away from the train station I could walk to. After we got to my apt complex the three of us sat in their car for another hour or more talking, it never felt so good to meet new people. We exchanged phone numbers and wow Character names and Realms.
They want to meet Chris and game each weekend and invited me and him to join them. OH I can’t wait to game again and have people who understand that side of me ^_^
No more crazy lady next store or drunken man next store I think I made real friends here in Canada. Now who would have thought friendly chit chat on a train could do that.
