June 27th
What an adventurous day! Today was the first time Chris has plans with the guys from work. It was Jess’s birthday and they were going to play some pool and what not. So I went to Nik and Rachel’s to create a DND character. But first of course I stopped at Michaels for more scrap booking supplies. For those of you that do this hobby you will understand what I’m about to explain. Fabric/silk flowers that you attack with a brad in the middle; you know what I’m referring to right? Well you can get like 10 of them for about 7 dollars, where my genius mind saw a clearance section of fake flowers that you make arrangements with. Well I could get a clump of like 30 flowers for 1.99! All I have to do is disassemble them. This way I had more variety and I got more for my money. I think I was quite brilliant really ^_^
After spending to much time in there I called Rachel up and headed to their home. Once I was there I met two new people, Mellissa and James. I got there a little after 7pm we worked on character sheets and just shot the breeze all night. It was good to get out and be with people again, but soon it was 1am and I got a ride home with Mellissa and James.
Once home I realized I was starving and I hadn’t gotten groceries yet so I called Chris up seeing if on his way home he could get McDonalds for us. You see that is the only place open at 2am on and its only drive thru. So I called him up and well he wasn’t doing the greatest. He hasn’t had any alcohol since Feb so his belly was not happy with him. He said he was going to call a cab to get home. The trains stop at 1am, it was 2am, but because it was bar closing time he couldn’t get a cab. So do you know that that meant? That’s right I got to drive for the first time in Edmonton, it was in the dark in the wee hours of the morning and I was reading his directions by flashlight in my car. All this time trying to stop at the appropriate place at the stop lights, you see theirs are not like ours in point, so it took lots of concentration to know where to stop.
But I found him, got him in the car went to McDonalds and happily watched Starwars Episode One while we ate our Double Big Mac!
