July 1st

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Canada Day formerly Dominion Day, is Canada’s national holiday. Celebrated on July 1st, annually by all governments and most businesses across the country; the date, though, is adjusted in cases where July 1 does not fall on a working day. Canada Day observances take place not only throughout the nation, but also internationally.

Frequently referred to as "Canada's birthday," particularly in the popular press, the occasion marks the joining of the British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada into a federation of four provinces (the Province of Canada being divided, in the process, into Ontario and Quebec) on July 1, 1867. However, though it is regarded that Canada became a kingdom in its own right on that date.

So we had made plans with a guy Chris works with to go to their “River Front” with him and his wife and baby but sadly the baby was sick so our plans were canceled. After just hanging out at home we herd the fireworks going off so we headed out by foot to see them.

We ended up at the river and just walked the paths around the city and watched what was left of the fire works. I was great to just get out and walk and not have to worry about anything. We walked around for like 2 hours and just talked and had fun, sure it seems small but that really made my night.
