July 19th

Last night we got the worse storm seen in many years. I was sitting here just playing online.

The day turned dark then black soon the wind was howling threw the windows and before I knew it the rain was rushing down sideways into the apt. The wind was so strong our walls were moving and the rain was so think it sounded like it was etching the glass on our windows. Soon I looked out the window to see the street lights bending and waving then that side of the street went dark.

My lights began to flicker I went for the phone then it was black in the apt. I talked to Chris he said they had flickers and its really nasty out too that there is server thunderstorm watches as well as tornado watches (both as rare as the other) Chris told me to get as far down in floors as possible in this complex. Don’t forget we live on the top floor the 8^th floor.

I grabbed a pillow a blanket a few flashlights a book and my purse and cell phone and started to search for a stair well that wasn’t locked. Luckily I found one that lead to the Sub basement. Well not the basement its self because Chris had the key for the parkade so I couldn’t get in. So I set up in the corner on the floor of the stair well and started to read.

Deep below the service by two levels I could hear the wind and rain and sirens above me. Chris called sever at imes to make sure I was still there and safe. Around Midnight he called and said it was calming down but to stay down there if I didn’t feel safe going back up. But after I finished the chapter I headed back up, and the rain and everything was done it was like there had never been a storm.

So today on my walk I took some photos of the trees down around my block. I road with Chris to work today and saw worse things but these photos will do.
